Review: Delarosa Pizza at City Center Bishop Ranch
Published: 2023-11-09, Last Updated: 2023-12-07
Delarosa is a fancy Roman-style pizza place at City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon.
Delarosa's pies are thin and crispy, with a bubbly, slightly-charred crust and top-shelf ingredients.
If you're a fan of simple New York style pizza, Delarosa isn't the place to go. But if you're looking for a bit more upscale of a pizza experience--perhaps paired with some wine or a cocktail from Delarosa's extensive bar--the restaurant is a great fit.
Delarosa isn't as kid-friendly as casual pizza places like Skipolinis. It has more of a high-energy, 'young professionals out networking' kind of vibe.
But the restaurant has gotten better about offering options for kids, including a basic cheese pizza that's much easier for little ones to eat than their fancier margarita pie.
Delarosa also offers excellent starters and sides, including tasty meatballs, an excellent bruschetta with honey, and simple dishes like buttered noodles.
The tables at Delarosa can be challenging, as they're mostly high-tops and long communal tables with chairs that have no backs. I either like to grab one of the four-top tables at the back of the restaurant or take my pizza to go and eat on the lawn.
Overall, Delarosa is a great bet if you're craving pizza (or have the kids in tow) but still want a fancier, more upscale experience. It also makes a great place for a date night or to meet a colleague for lunch.

How We Evaluated It
I get food from Delarosa about six times per year. I've eaten in the restaurant multiple times, as well as on the outdoor patio, and I've gotten takeout pizza for a picnic at City Center, as well as to take home.
