Sourdough and Company is a great middle ground when you're looking for something a little fancier than Subway, but you have limited time to pick up lunch.

This California chain focuses on standard sandwiches like turkey and ham, as well as some fancier options like a brisket sandwich, cranberry and turkey sandwich, and more.

On my last visit, I got the chicken Chua sandwich.

It was kind of like a spicy buffalo chicken sandwich.

It was very tasty.

The interior of Sourdough and Company clearly has San Francisco café-inspired vibes with chalkboard signs, vibrant colors, and plenty of seating around.

I like their Walnut Creek location, which is fairly new and has nice outdoor seating.

One big standout at Sourdough and Company are the cookies.

Their chocolate chip cookies taste like homemade, just a bit gooey in the center, which is the ideal way to serve a chocolate chip cookie.

Sourdough and Company is definitely not as fancy or upscale as a place like Mendocino Farms.

The quality of the ingredients isn't quite as high as at artisan sandwich shops.

But again, if you want something that's a bit more elevated than fast food but is still very fast, it's a solid choice.
